ten of pentacles
rage against the dream
A collective daily card pull, through intuition and channeled messages.
The Ten of Pentacles. The house, the dog, the family, the dream. Yet when I pulled this card, I felt something missing. The ability to receive. To believe that this life could belong to you, too.
I can still smell the coffee in your hand as you stared at a message before your first sip. The email that stung your spine. The comment at work that made your blood boil. The insensitive remark from your ex partner that severed your affinity and your loyalty to the relationship.
The literal audacity. Did they forget who they were speaking to?
Something in that moment brought you back to yourself. Your life is yours to live.
There was a time when your fertility was in question. Metaphorically, people didn't believe you could produce a life you believed was worth living. They made you question your inherent and divine right to receive and conceive.
No more.
My attention went to the older man in the card. He brought the Hermit to mind. The moment you retreated to find your North Star again. To hear your own voice without someone else's expectations speaking over it.
I see your palms on the concrete, pushing your knees off the ground. Wiping your tears with your wrists. Sniffling your way into the courage to take the next step. Your eyes still full, this time from surrendering what was not working out.
It's time to get up and get your Ten of Pentacles.
And I am hearing that this exists with or without a partner to complete the picture.
Some days, my Ten of Pentacles is my best friend's voice note. The fulfillment of paying for her dinner or finding a present that reminds me of her. The sticky laughter that reverberates through our hearts. The I love yous and get home safes, the remnants of their perfume after we hug.
The love that makes us furious when someone hurts them, disrespects them, or takes them for granted. Sometimes we find the words for our friends before we can find them for ourselves.
This is wealth, too. These beautiful women, these extensions and reflections of ourselves. Having someone you want to get home safe, and knowing they are waiting for your message.
I am also drawn toward knowing yourself again. Your Saturn, your moon, your Venus. How do they relate to each other? How do they make you, you? What pleasures make your skin chill with excitement when no one else is choosing for you?
Your Ten of Pentacles still exists after the bad first date. After the rejection letter. After the certification results you didn't want to see. These are not the only chances you'll have.
But there is beauty in what failed, too. In the memories that linger after the life you imagined never quite arrived.
I find comfort in imagining another version of you living on the other side of your choice. Nesting within the consequences of the path you didn't take. There would be beauty there, and there would be grief there, too. Things you could never have anticipated.
Maybe you can let that version of yourself hold the life you keep wondering about. You are allowed to miss it. You are also allowed to continue here.
There is still a life to produce. There is still something within you that wants to receive it.
Rest. Return to yourself. Let someone care for you. Your Ten of Pentacles has room for you, too.
